Official Charles O. Finley Orange Baseball; outstanding example of the Official Charles O. Finley regulation-size orange baseball; ball was manufactured in 1973 by then Oakland A's owner, Charlie Finley; stamped on the sweet spot with Finley notation; the orange ball was developed by Finley to be used in the A's exhibition loss to the Indians; it was thought that the ball would spice up the regular game of baseball and make it easier for the crowd to keep their eyes on the ball and the batter could more easily see the ball coming; it never gained traction in the league but is still a dynamic piece of baseball history.
